OTB - they’re already systems in place for localised issues.

This is overreach. This is funds taken from budgets to pay for something superfluous. This is taking tax payers money and paying cronies. This is coercing all mobile networks to create direct links to government.

Everything is always just a little thing to help the people. Until it isn’t.

"They used to brand numbers onto slave’s arms in roman times. They stopped when they realised the slaves would know how many of them there were and rise up. The numbers were sequential."

How the fuck would they achieve that even across a single markt with several slave traders, let alone across an Empire on three continents, without modern electronic accounting systems and communication?

Conspiracy loons love to call the rest of us naive, yet they so often believe any shit they're told without pausing to think

Auntie Thermite 8:46 Mon Apr 24
Now don't beez causing problems by getting all uppity and refusing to do as Massa says
You'll only make it harder for the rest of us for not doing as you're told.

MODs
Can we create some kind of proof of compliance passport that auto-bans all posters that refuses to cow and bow down to Massa's/Big Gov's slow creep to a new world order?

Can't wait for the next series of illogical, worthless, conditioning voluntary slave-class compliance tests to find out who's a good slave that only lives to please Massa.

"Slavery is a choice"
Indeed.

The previous warnings would be via an automated phonecall... we live in a so called flood risk... been here 29 years... 1 phonecall... the day I came out of hospital after having a blocked bladder... right fucking laugh going up and down a ladder putting valuables/TV's among about 100 photo albums in the loft...

We all know that the first thing everyone will do if the alarm go off for real is rush down the shops to buy bog roll

Re: Government warning text / sound
Its like we've never had to deal with slight worries before. Normally you get some calm bloke going " oi mate there's a fire down there where the smoke is". Most people in flood areas are aware of it both historically and from people actually talking to each other. In both cases people are aware of the issue and are generally calm.
You get some bleeping phones going off and all the snow flakes and wankers will be running around like headless chickens whilst everyone else laughs.

Nonsense.

It's determined by masts - so when it's used it'll almost always be a local alert given that we don't have too many national emergencies.

I'm sure that people in Dagenham and Rainham wouldn't have minded warnings last year about fires when their entire streets burned down. But you're being selective, so that doesn't matter. I'm sure you think that no-one needs to know about floods or terrorists either.

You can't possibly be daft enough to think that the Government need to do a test like this to see how many phones they can access and whatever 'blockers' you think you've got (you haven't).

As much as anything else - you're incredibly uninteresting to them, as am I, as is everyone on here.

Other silly claims on this thread that it's an app and that it's done by phone number - both nonsense.

MPI, I would actually like that to be belted out as the siren……knowing our government they’d fuck it up and play ‘Relax’ instead….

When was the last time the UK had a nationwide disaster? I can't remember one. And how would an alarm help anyway.

And if, God forbid, we came under neclear attack wtf are you going to do in those few minutes. I'd sooner not know about it.

If the is a major disaster about to happen then I would like a much warning as possible, and if the text gives me a few minutes than that great.

Re: Government warning text / sound
This is a clear example of government over-reach. Something we don't need and haven't been asking for and cost the government (us) the thick end of £10 million.

So a few other countries have it. So what. We don't have forest fires and tornadoes to concern us so just what is the point? Are they going to send out alarms when a bit of snow is expected or a bit of a heatwave. I wouldn't put it past them.
Once this kind of thing is introduced they'll abuse it by sending out alarms just because they can.

Pretty obvious what this was for. It was to trigger the mind control chip implanted by the COVID vaccine. Those of us who heard it are now all Manchurian Candidates. For the rest of you, throw your mobile away, before it's too late!
